As the Isreali-Hamas crisis thickens, the Israeli Defence Minister, Yoav Gallant has concluded plans to evacuate 28 settlements sited up to 2 kilometres from the border with Lebanon.
This comes after one of the villages, Shtula was attacked after an exchange of rocket fire with the Lebanese Shiite militia, Hezbollah on Sunday, a situation that led to the death of one civilian.
Gallant said on Monday that residents in the affected towns would be offered safe accommodation in guest houses at the expense of the State of Isreal.
Already, the Israeli army had declared a four kilometre-wide strip in the border area restricted zone on Sunday.
Since the unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israel and the counter-attacks by the Israeli army on the Gaza Strip, there has been increased violence on the border between Israel and Lebanon recently.
This, has raised concerns on the escalation of the conflict in the region.
