NASS Receive President Tinubu in Historic Joint Session

The 10th National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria had a historic joint session on Wednesday May 29th with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in attendance.

During the brief session, President Tinubu congratulate the National Assembly for heralding the use of our Nigeria’s new National Anthem,  ‘Nigeria We Hail Thee.’

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas said it was indeed a moment to remember, as it highlights the cordial relationship that currently exist between the executive and legislative arm of government.

“I was particularly elated by the cordial and mutually beneficial relationship between the Executive and Legislative arms of the Federal Government in the last one year. This is indeed good for our democracy.  It is a win-win situation, and that is how democracy should be played,” Abbas said.

Continuing, he said, “As a parliament, we are happy with President Tinubu’s performance in office in the past year. I thank the President for being supportive of the National Assembly. The National Assembly is genuinely thankful for the partnership that has existed within the last one year.”

After the brief session, the leadership and members of the National Assembly joined the President, who commissioned the National Assembly Library Complex, named after him.

Thereafter, they accompanied the President to inaugurate the Abuja Metro Rail, a project executed by the FCT Administration under the current Minister, Barr. Nyesom Wike.
