Interior Minister Approves 35% Recruitment Slots for Women in Para-military  

The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has approved the allocation of a whopping 35 per cent slot for the recruitment of women into agencies under the Ministry.

The Minister who made this announcement in a personal post via his X social media handle on Friday said the approval takes effect with the current into the Federal Fire Service.

Writing on X, Tunji-Ojo stated that he gave the approval in his capacity as the Chairman of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB).

“Today, as the Chairman of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB), I approved the allocation of a substantial 35% recruitment slot for women into agencies under the Ministry of Interior, beginning from the on-going recruitment into the Federal Fire Service,” we stated.

According to him, this decision, which he says is strategic, aligns with the #RenewedHope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to elevate women’s participation in crucial sectors to at least 35%.
