FG Moves to Resolve NECO Transportation, Logistics Crisis

The Federal Government has stated its readiness to resolve the transportation and logistics crisis associated with the National Examinations Council (NECO).
Minister of Education, Prof.Tahir Mamman stated this at a meeting with NECO officials, led by the Registrar, Prof Ibrahim Wushishi on Friday in Abuja.
He stated that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is committed to resolving all the problems in the education sector within the available resources and legal framework.
Mamman reiterated his determination to tackle all the challenges confronting the sector.
He pleaded with all the stakeholders to collaborate towards achieving a better Nigeria, saying that education is too critical to be ignored.
The Minister of State for Education, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu described NECO as the pride of the nation, urging the government at all levels to assist in fulfilling the mandate of the examination body.
Sununu cautioned any institution or establishment from discriminating against the NECO certificate, adding that such would amount to denigrating the nation.
He hinted that NECO certificate meets all the criteria needed for national and international admission.
The NECO Registrar, Prof Ibrahim Wushishi lamented over the logistics challenges facing the council, especially during examinations.
Wushishi thanked the Registrars of the Joint Admissions and Maticulations Board, and the National Board for Technical Examinations for always assisting with transportation logistics during NECO examinations.
