Deported Passengers Violated Entry Rules, Saudi Embassy Insists

Saudi Arabian Embassy in Nigeria has insisted that deported Nigerian passengers violated the entry rules and conditions for its country.
The reaction followed the cancellation of Visas of 264 passengers aboard Air Peace airline to Saudi Arabia.
Presidential Diary reported that the Saudi Arabian authorities had on November 12, 2023, denied 264 Nigerian passengers entry into their country by announcing that the passengers’ visas were cancelled.
Recall that the passengers boarded from Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos and Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, Kano on Sunday night and landed at King Abdul-Aziz International Airport, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia before the unfortunate incident.
But the Embassy in a statement on Thursday, disclosed that the passengers denied entry and subsequently deported to their initial destinations submitted incorrect information to obtain certain categories of visa above their qualification limit.
The Embassy noted that the discovery was made on their arrival, harping on the need for visa applicants to follow the procedures and laws enacted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for all visitors.
It also noted that all passengers should review all documents to determine their conformity with the conditions prior to departing from their countries to the Kingdom.
The embassay hinted that the procedure was not limited to Nigerian citizens only, adding that citizens of other countries were also involved.
