The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) has handed over essential medical supplies, including antimalaria, antihypertensive, analgesics and antibiotics, among other medical supplies to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON).
The supplies, according to the Executive Director of NPHCDA, Dr Muyi Aina, are to ensure the health and well-being of Nigerian pilgrims undertaking the sacred journey by providing timely medical assistance to them whenever the occasion demanded.
Speaking during the handover on Sunday in Abuja Dr Aina said that it was important to provide comprehensive medical support and backups to the pilgrims.
Aina, while acknowledging the stressful nature of the pilgrimage exercise also stressed that there is a coordinated effort to supply vaccines and essential drugs to all states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The NPHCDA boss expressed gratitude to the chairman, board members, directors, and staff of NAHCON “for their invaluable partnership, as well as the Coordinating Minister of Health for his unwavering support.”
