Says President Tinubu has approved construction of 1,000 houses for IDPs in Benue
The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima arrived Makurdi, the Benue State capital on Tuesday where he flagged off the Expanded National MSME Clinic.
The Clinic is designed to empower small businesses, boost the economy, and create jobs across the state by providing access to resources, funding, and expert guidance for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

Upon arrival, the Vice President wasted no time in getting down to business as he immediately embarked on a tour of the MSMEs booth camps at the IBB Square in company of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia. There, he engaged with entrepreneurs, getting a firsthand look at the diverse array of products and services on offer.
This hands-on approach underscores the government’s commitment to supporting and empowering small businesses across the country.
Beyond business, the Vice President also visited the camp for Internaly displaced persons (IDPs) at Ichwa, Makurdi where he pledged the government’s determination to settle all persons displaced from their homes due to conflicts or natural disasters.

At the IDPs camp, the Vice President assured that the President is determined to restore peace to Benue and return all displaced persons to their homes.
To this effect, he announced that the President has approved the construction of 1000 housing units for displaced persons in Benue State.
He said, “The president has approved the construction of 1,000 houses for displaced persons in Benue State that will be fitted with all the attendant infrastructure.”

Speaking further, Shettima said, “I am back home because I am a son of Benue, so also is the President, the SGF, the minister of water resources as well as the Senate Minority leader, Abba Moro. We shall be pooling all our resources to ameliorate your sufferings.”
