Troops of Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) operating in Plateau and parts of Bauchi and Kaduna States have killed four suspected bandits and arrested 17 others in Plateau.
The Media Officer of OPSH, Capt.James Oya said on Tuesday in Jos that the bandits were arrested over various crimes within its operational areas.
Oya listed the crimes as kidnapping, murder, violent attacks on communities, and illicit drug peddling.
He hinted that the suspects were arrested during a special operation conducted by the troops between October 29 and November 5.
The informed that the troops rescued four kidnapped victims, prevented six attempts to attack vulnerable communities and responded to 13 distress calls within the period under review.
Oya disclosed that the Commander of OPSH, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar thanked the residents of Plateau, Bauchi and Kaduna states for supporting the military and other security agencies in their bid to promote security within the areas of operation.
