He noted that the prayer became imperative given the state of affairs in the union and to frustrate all evil plans against members and their families.
”The recent turn of events at the council is quite disturbing with many deaths and illnesses involving members and their relatives like never before.
”Our union is passing through very challenging times at the moment in spite of its abundant human and mental resources.
“NUJ is a vibrant and virile union that is full of vigour, resourcefulness, eggheads and has all it takes to be one of the greatest councils in the country.
”Regrettably, it has been bedeviled with misfortunes making it impossible for it not to be where it should be at the moment,” he added.
In view of the challenging moment, Ugwu hinted that all journalists practicing in the FCT and their relatives are expected to participate in the programme.
He directed all Chapel chairmen to mobilise their members for the programme, just as he pleaded with journalists to join the solemn assembly in order to bring the union into a new era of peace, unity, safety and all-round prosperity.
The secretary was optimistic that God would use the programme to address the spiritual dimension of the challenges plaguing the union and frustrate every evil plans against the council.
