Nigeria’s Senior Citizens Donate Health, Support Items to Cross River State

The National Senior Citizens Center has donated various items to the government of Cross River State to support senior citizens in the state.

The Items, which were handed over to Emmanuel Ironbar, the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu in Abuja by the Director General of NSCC, Dr Emem Omokaro include 30 Protective Underwear, 32 Walking Aid, 25 Guide Cane, 30 Quadri Pod Walking Stick, 25 pieces Hearing Aids, 25 Automatic Upper Arm Blood Pressure Machine, 25 Blood Glucose Monitoring System. ACCU-CHECK, and 30 Set of Crutches.

Governor Otu who was represented by the Chief of Staff thanked the NSCC boss for the kind gesture and lauded the achievement of the Centre in just a few years of its establishment.

He said his administration is willing to partner with the NSCC to enhance the welfare of the senior citizens in his state.

The Governor emphasized that as a matter of policy directive, pensioners who are those considered Senior Citizens after their 35 years in civil to the nation are the ones who are paid their pension first before salary is paid to serving workers of the State.
