BREAKING: Former House Of Reps Speaker, Na’Abba Is Dead

A former Speaker of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’Abba, has died at the age of 65.

Although details of his death as reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) were sketchy at the time of reporting, it emerged that he died at a hospital in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja after a prolonged battle with an ailment.

A recent video of him that emerged while abroad showed him struggling to walk, as he was seemingly battling to come out of a stroke.

Na’Abba, who was Speaker of the House between 1999 and 2003, was born into the family of Alhaji Umar Na’Abba, a businessman in Tudun Wada, Kano City, Kano Municipal Local Government on 27 September, 1958.

He is renowned for battling to keep his position, as the presidency under Olusegun Obasanjo did not approve of his leadership. He survived the numerous plot and was able to complete his four-year tenure on 2003.
