The federal government through the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development has launced Nigeria’s Long-Term Low Emission Development Strategy at the just concluded COP28 Conference of Parties in Dubai, UAE.
This was disclosed in a statement by Gbenga Saka, Special Adviser to the Hon Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo on Monday.
According to the Minister, the strategy serves as a testament to the nation’s unwavering dedication to achieving sustainable and environmentally responsible practices.
He stressed the nation’s unwavering dedication to environmentally responsible practices, saying the launch of the strategy is a landmark initiative that signifies Nigeria’s transition from fossil fuels to low-emission fuel, leading to the net zero goal across all sectors of the economy.
Keyamo said the strategy is designed to accelerate sustainable economic progress, address the challenge of Climate change and stimulate the challenge of low-carbon growth.
The Minister who said the launch of this strategy further cement Nigeria’s position in the global environmental movement, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to contribute to Global Climate efforts and acknowledged the unwavering support from those who have been involved in this crucial assignment.
