AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Depart for Cote d’Ivoire

The Nigeria national football team, Super Eagles, departed Lagos on Wednesday to take part in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations holding in Cote d’Ivoire.

Members of the team were dressed in native attires, putting on a white kaftan with green caps, showcasing Nigeria’s national colours.

The Morocco football team, Atlas Lions, on Saturday, made history as the first team, other than the host nation, to touch down in Cote d’Ivoire for the 2023 CAF Africa Cup of Nations.

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been in Dubai, UAE preparing for the tournament. They were hosted by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to a special dinner at the Lagos House, Marina, before the team’s departure to Cote d’Ivoire for the AFCON tournament, which is slated to commence on Saturday, January 13.on Tuesday, en route Cote d’Ivoire.

The governor used the occasion to charge players and the entire team of the Super Eagles to win the AFCON, stating that the triumph of the Eagles would bring succour to the citizens.
