The Nigeria Army, Operation Safe Haven (OPSH) has commenced manhunt to apprehend killers of a Catholic seminarian, Na’aman Stephen.
Presidential Diary had reported that the Seminarian was roasted to death when bandits invaded and set ablaze St. Raphael Parish in Fadan Kamantan, Kafanchan Diocese in Kaduna State.
The incident occured in the late hours of Thursday, September 7 at about 8:00 p.m in Jema’a Local Government Area of the state.
It was gathered that some priests escaped during the attack but the Seminarian was unfortunately caught in the inferno.
But Commander of OPSH, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, who also doubles as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 3 Division of the Nigeria Army, vowed to arrest the perpetrators.
During an interactive session with stakeholders on Sunday in Zango-Kataf, he described the incident as unfortunate, with a promise to end all criminal activities in the area.
Abubakar admitted that he lost sleep when he was intimated of the incident, assuring that he would bring the perpetrators to book.
The commander enjoined religious leaders to desist from sermons capable of inciting violence, just as he pleaded with the people to forgive each other, eschew violence and embrace peaceful coexistence.
He advised the youths to shun drug abuse, adding that large consumption of hard drugs contributed to the ongoing security challenges in the country.
Abubakar begged the community to support and cooperate with the military and other security agencies, as they work towards restoring lasting peace in all parts of the state.
